Colleen Buck

Colleen is a 1992 graduate of Illinois State University, and obtained her Masters in Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University in 1999. She spent 15 years learning the search industry from the ground up, working two years for Indecon, Inc. doing IT recruiting. She spent the following twelve years working for Kensington International as its Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Assessment. There, she led search operations, developing and implementing staffing processes and models focused on quality initiatives and high touch customer service. She also trained, managed, and developed the recruiting staff. 

In 2006, with a firm colleague, Alyse Lasser, Colleen started Insight Executive Search Partners, Inc., a generalist boutique retained executive search firm. Insight is retained by blue chip companies nationwide, and works in a variety of functional areas, including legal, human resources, regulatory and sales and marketing.

Colleen is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management and served as President of the Human Resources Association Greater Oak Brook in 2007.  She is the recipient of the 2005 HRA President’s Award for leadership and excellence in the Human Resources field.  Colleen also served on the Illinois State Council of SHRM as the strategic Alliance Director in 2007.

Colleen is a certified assessment facilitator and regularly consults to companies on staffing function reorganizations and best practices. She is a frequent speaker on strategic staffing and related employment issues to corporate groups, associations and colleges and universities. She has worked with many organizations such as Business Professionals of America and Junior Achievement to introduce the concept of Human Resources into the schools by putting together programs that companies can take into the schools at all levels.

In her free time, she is an avid supporter of the local school district, volunteering her time on curriculum and site needs as well as assisting the district in the recruiting, selecting and hiring of a Superintendent and site Principals. She sits on the board of several youth groups and coaches competitive girls soccer.

Alyse Lasser PortraitAlyse is a 1981 graduate of the University of Illinois, and obtained her law degree from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1984.  She practiced law for 15 years, both in private practice and on the legal staff of Waste Management,Inc. She was on Waste Management’s legal staff for 11 years, and was promoted into increasingly responsible positions. Alyse was selected as a high potential employee to be in the Waste Management’s first Mentor Program.

In 1999, Alyse decided to switch careers and began a career in retained executive search. She joined a boutique retained executive search firm and quickly developed a diverse and growing client base.  In 2006, with a firm colleague, Colleen Buck, Alyse started Insight Executive Search Partners, Inc., a generalist boutique retained executive search firm. Insight is retained by blue chip companies nationwide, and works in a variety of functional areas, including legal, human resources, regulatory and sales and marketing.

Alyse is very active in the legal and professional community, and is a frequent speaker and author on career issues. Alyse has spoken, participated in or moderated panels with a variety of professional organizations—Chicago Bar Association, American Corporate Counsel Association, Northwestern University School of Law, Harris Bank Women in Business Forum, American Association of University Women, National Association of Women Lawyers and the Human Resources Association.

In addition to her executive search practice, Alyse also consults on a regular and ongoing basis with clients on issues such as recruiting and retaining top performers, organizational development, employee engagement, performance management and work-life balance. Alyse’s passion is mentoring and empowering young women, and she always has several mentees at any given time. In her free time, she likes to cook, run and feed her jewelry addiction.
